About the Role

Paws and Claws, Guyana’s Premier Grooming Spa & Pet Store, is looking for a reliable, caring, and hardworking Dog Bather / Spa Assistant to join our grooming team.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Saturday, and is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Previous professional grooming experience is not required, as training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely bathe and dry dogs according to grooming procedures.
• Assist groomers with preparing dogs for grooming services.
• Brush and prepare coats before and after bathing.
• Assist with basic pet care during grooming appointments.
• Safely handle dogs of different sizes and temperaments.
• Keep dogs comfortable, calm, and properly supervised while in the spa.
• Clean and sanitize bathing areas, grooming equipment, cages, and workspaces.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized grooming environment.
• Assist with other grooming spa duties as assigned.
• Follow all company policies and animal safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must be comfortable handling dogs.
• Must enjoy working with animals.
• Must be responsible, patient, and attentive.
• Able to follow instructions and learn new skills.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working around water, pet hair, and cleaning products.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and assist with handling dogs of various sizes.
• Previous experience working with dogs is an advantage but not required.
